February 2017
Helga: I have #narcolepsy and RLS as well. Today I learned from a SLEEP TEST (which I do once a year) that my #RLS has completely disappeared......I see a strong relationship between practicing TRE and getting rid of RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome). Has anyone else had this experience?
RL Raymond: I have observed the same with a client.
Mal: I had no idea what RLS was and missed out on this information. I suffer terribly from that; are you saying that Trauma Release Exercises help?
Helga: Restless Legs means that muscles in your Legs are contracting automatically - often before or while someone is sleep.
The sleep can’t reach the deep sleep-phases which is necessary to stay sane in the long term. Often it occurs while I'm about to fell asleep. A friend of mine needs hours to fall asleep because of RLS right at the moment of dropping of.
One could imagine the body forced itself to stay in some sort of alert mode caused by traumatic experiences...
Then TRE MUST have influence on it...
Sofia : Cool. I've heard somewhere that RLS can be linked to trauma.
Raymond: In my opinion, the first and most important step is to make that connection in your head/heart, and BELIEVE that RLS is trauma-related. The rest is child's play. Of course, we don't accept, that many of the things which happen/ed to us ARE/WERE trauma-inducing. If we understand and believe, then we'll have the patience to do TRE for a while. Thanks Helga and others for prompting my comment.
Helga : In my case I never thought, or even dreamt of curing my RLS by practicing TRE - but it worked !
Raymond : Thanks a million Helga for your very important testimonial, which I hope you won't mind I will use and hashtag as a great reference for RLS. So then, what about the narcolepsy : has that improved? I wish you boundless energy and to hit Spring running.
Helga : Hey Raymond, you're very welcome to spread the testimonial as you please.
I'm about to learn from my Doctor how the narcolepsy is developing at the moment. As a matter of fact its symptom of being tired too often is a bit disturbing - but I suppose it’s also part of the healing process as well.
Sleep was my way out of quite ugly things in my childhood. And I'm sure that with TRE I will be able to fix this as I fixed my #ADHS-Syndrome (#ADHD) and my #depressions through TRE, IDOGO, my faith in and love for Jesus and my Buddhist philosophy.
I'm really happy about the many things I was able to learn about me - and about others surrounding me all the time.
Raymond : Very glad to hear that you have such good insight into your history; it's quite sad that you should have used sleep as a way to cope/escape. Maybe TRE won't heal directly, but as it helps your body to release the tension of your life, fresh stories, more truths may begin to surface. Be prepared for them, in fact expect them. Be gentle with yourself and process slowly.
Helga : That's the way I used to handle it already - and it’s a VERY good and necessary advice Raymond! Thanks!
UPDATE 8 March 2017
Helga : today I got the results out of my last Seep Tests. Two because I had only 0,3 % Deepsleep that special night.
He told me while referring to my second test, that THERE IS NO MORE NEED TO HANDLE MY NARCOLEPSY!
